11th World Congress of the OWHC in Sintra, Portugal

 

The 11th World Congress of the Organization of World Heritage Cities was held in Sintra, Portugal, from November 22 to 25. During this great international gathering, more than 350 participants coming from 145 cities in 70 countries in the world discussed the theme “World Heritage Cities and Climate Change”.

City of Regensburg accepts responsibility for the OWHC Regional Secretariat Northwest Europe

On the 21st of November the OWHC´s Board of Directors decided to entrust the City of Regensburg with the management of the Regional Secretariat for North West Europe. Regensburg had applied for the Secretariat during a preliminary meeting on September the 30th 2011.

Tunis, the second city to win the Jean-Paul-L’Allier Prize for Heritage

The City of Tunis, Tunisia, was honored during the 11th World Congress of the Organization of World Heritage Cities in Sintra, Portugal. The city of Tunis won the Jean-Paul-L’Allier Prize for Heritage thanks to its restoration and beautification project of a street circuit entitled “From Zitouna to Sidi Ibrahim”.
